Prospects of green nanotechnology for efficient management of neurodegenerative diseases

Current theranostics for neurodegenerative diseases (NDD) management are majorly symptomatic due to a lack of identification early-stage biomarkers and the inefficiency drugs penetrate through blood-brain barrier. Recently, Neuro-nanotechnology interface has emerged as potential strategy diagnosis, monitoring, treatment NDDs owing smaller particle size, high specific surface area, tunable physicochemical attributes rich functionalities. However, toxicity biocompatibility two significant challenges restricting their commercial prospect in NDD management. On contrary, green nanosystems fabricated using plant extracts, microorganisms, biome-based precursors, repurposed-byproducts, exosomes, protein-based bio-nanomaterials economical, eco-friendly, biocompatible renewable abundance biodiversity. This explores novel cutting-edge developing diagnostic implantable devices, targeted drug delivery strategies, surgical prostheses, therapeutics, treatment, nanoscaffolds neurogeneration, immunity development. Besides, it discusses challenges, alternate solutions advanced prospects with integration modern-age technologies development sustainable efficient NDDs.
